I created a new page for version 3 of Folding@Gnome. No releases yet, but I do plan to drop periodic builds there. Let me know if things work O.K.

I gave myself a new PC and installed the testing Debian Squeeze. All runs fine, but now I haven't got a working Folding@Gnome applet anymore. So... I will soon start making the changes needed to get things working again. This will be for gtk-2.4 and with the new system-tray mechanism. I hope to return here soon with release news!

I opened a LinkedIn account and put a link to it on this website. I also added 2 new photo-galleries. They are photo's of me on rented motor cycles and me on rented sailing 'yachts'. Things are quiet in both the Engineering world and the Linux world (In my Linux world at least): Debian is working on a new release version codenamed Squeeze, but there are still numerous release-critical bugs... it will be a while until it is released I guess. What a major website-update isn't it? ;)

While I already finished the Debian Lenny Installation Guide some time ago, I completely forgot to place it on my website. Oops...Sorry! So since today its available online as well. I've basically rewritten the two existing Debian Etch installation guides while trying to keep the guide applicable for any PC platform. Your questions, suggestions and remarks are, as always, welcome!

The music section is so out-dated that I decided to remove it from the Internet. Some positive news: a Debian Lenny installation guide is on its way! :-)

Some people experience problems when trying to compile Folding@Gnome. './configure' is looking for gtkmm-2.0 and, although this is the version most Debian users will be using, Ubuntu users amongst others require Folding@Gnome to be compiled for gtkmm-2.4. Therefore I (successfully) compiled the fag-2.0.2 source against gtkmm-2.4. Please visit the Folding@Gnome section for downloads.

Version 2 of Folding@Gnome is in the making and at this point includes all main functionality. Therefore I've made it available as an Appetizer. Check it out!

I added a new source code snippet! It's a piece of C code that enables I²C multimaster operation on a Microchip PIC18. I also added a Bluetooth HCI serial sniffer program I wrote during my final internship a few years ago. I hope its useful to anybody! Cheers, Ruud
